Donation and Buying Policy
Congleton Furniture Centre is not a charity but works with local Congleton Charity Ruby’s Fund, any item of furniture donated to us ensures a percentage of the profit will go towards helping this worthwhile local charity to grow. Buy local, donate local, stay local and help the local community.

We also understand that not everyone can afford to donate items so we also offer a buying service, if you have furniture which is in excellent condition which can be re-sold then we may be able to buy.  We try to offer these services at all times but please understand that if we are full or if we do not believe the item will resell we may not be able to take items immediately as we do not have additional storage facilities.

Pre-loved furniture is a very competitive business at the moment, with other similar ventures, facebook selling and other on-line facilities therefore the prices we can offer for items has to take into consideration: collection costs, cleaning or refurbishment costs, storage, return on the investment, resale value and costs.  As said it is a competitive market with social media and on-line sales therefore please do not be offended if we cannot offer the retail value or the price you were hoping to achieve for the item/s or if we do not feel that the item will resell in our shop.

Any items donated or purchased will be collected if required (or items can be dropped off at the shop) utilising A Small Man With A Big Van Ltd.  Collections can be made on most days of the week working around any appointments/bookings already in the diary, therefore notice will be required.

Any item donated has to be in an immediate resale condition (no rips, tears or holes in upholstered items, leather or fabric. No wood worm etc in wooden items) or in a condition which can be cost effectively refurbished. Although we have a re-use/re-cycle/re-love/up-cycle policy we cannot take items which do not meet these criteria as we do not hold a waste licence so therefore it would not be cost effective for us to do so, we are always happy to receive good reusable quality items. If you wouldn’t buy it if the roles were reversed then please don’t expect us to be able to sell it.
